Warm weather! 暖かい！
It has been very warm here in NYC. Like Spring time! Lots of loud, long, drunk nights!! I hope winter is over. And I hope summer never comes, too hot! Hahaha. GJ VERY DRUNK NIGHT!!!それはニューヨークでここで非常に暖かくされています。春の時間が好きです！大声で、長い間、酔って夜たくさんの！私は冬が終わったと思います。私は夏が、来ない暑すぎるんね！ハハハ。 GJ VERY DRUNK NIGHT！
NOMAD played a gig @ Heaven St records on Friday night with Surrender and some other bands. Surrender were great, peace-punk style, like old CRASS records bands. Very good political/personal messages and great songs. I haven't seen them for years, and it was a pleasure to hear new songs. NOMAD were awesome, despite some volume issues. I really appreciate and love American style DIY gigs, but some bands I wish I could see at a Japanese club with really big sound. I feel like NOMAD would be one of those bands that would be really insane in that setting. Maybe one day! Me and Ian did DJ all night playing UK punk only!! Success!
ZATSUON will be playing a show in April w/PERDITION, PUTRIDA and a new UK82-style band - CULT FIGURE. It is a benefit gig. I will post info as soon as I know it. It is very short notice so please come out and support a good cause.

Show review! March 2 2012
The NOMAD tour kickoff show was a success!! Great time, lots of people came out and a very drunk loud night was had by all! This was the first time Lulu's Bar has held a punk show with our bands, it worked out well so hopefully they will have us back sometime again. THESE PHOTOS WERE TAKEN BY SAMANTHA. SORRY I DON'T HAVE PHOTOS OF EACH BAND.
SAD BOYS started the show off. They are very fun and their pogo-inducing tunes got the crowd going. They remind me a lot of Japanese street punk and pogo punk. Super catchy riffs and awesome screaming vocals. Great!!!
DEFORMITY was next. They played a bunch of new songs and they all ruled. Awesome raw hardcore punk. They don't get to play often so it was a pleasure to see them. They have two EP's coming out in the near future that you MUST pick up. Young kids playing angry as fuck raw hardcore.
ZATSUON was next. I'm not gonna review my own band. But it was a drunken mess and very bad. Noize + booze = good. Noize + way too much booze = bad.
GOOSEBUMPS saved the day after the drunken nightmare of ZATSUON. They are hands down the best NYHC in my opinion. Furious, angry, bitter, fucked up hardcore. Their sets are always violent and this was no exception. From the first note of the first song, the crowd went insane, people were hurt, Ray (vocals) knocked a few people around and it ended before you even knew what happened. They fucking rule. Some of the toughest music being made in NYC right now. Further proof that NYC rules all. Keeping hardcore dangerous and out of art school.
Last up was NOMAD. They have grown into one of the most powerful live bands in NYC recently. Fucking raw d-beat punk that leaves your ears ringing and violent. They played a tight set of chaotic noize drenched d-beat that was a perfect end to the night. They are hands down one of the best doing that style in the US right now. YOPPARAI YOPPARAI YOPPARAI YOPPARAI!!!!!
Great loud violent punk night. Thanks for coming out and supporting DIY hardcore punk. Never die!
